Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a Yard Operations Supervisor in Summerville, SC. You will oversee daily yard activities, coordinate loading/unloading, and ensure safe, efficient material handling.

You’ll manage inventory, work with dispatch and production, and lead a small team to meet delivery schedules while maintaining accurate records and complying with safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in yard, warehouse, or material handling roles; supervisory experience preferred.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment and safe yard operations.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate across teams.
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for tracking materials and maintaining records.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily yard operations, including staging, loading, and unloading materials.
• Maintain an organized yard layout to support efficient traffic flow and storage.
• Operate equipment (forklifts, loaders, cranes) and ensure safe use by the team.
• Coordinate with dispatch and production to support timely delivery of products.
• Track inventory and report discrepancies or shortages.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing products for quality and accuracy.
• Monitor yard equipment to ensure proper maintenance and safe operation.

What You'll Do
