Job summary

Luby Equipment is seeking a dependable Yard Laborer to join our yard operations team in Missouri. The role supports daily yard operations, handles materials, maintains rental equipment, fulfills customer orders, and keeps the yard organized and safe.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of related experience, be able to operate a forklift, and pass a drug screen. We offer weekly pay, safety gear, boot reimbursement, benefits, holidays, and PTO.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of yard/warehouse or industrial environment experience preferred.
• Forklift operating experience preferred.
• Ability to wear PPE including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and rain gear.
• Ability to pass a drug screening for a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trench boxes, shoring equipment, and other materials from trucks using a forklift or manual handling.
• Maintain rental equipment by cleaning, pressure washing, lubricating, repairing, and repainting to rent-ready standards.
• Assemble trench safety equipment and safely signal equipment operators during setup and movement.
• Pull and prepare customer orders, process returns, and count and organize inventory.
• Keep the yard, warehouse, and work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free; report issues to the Yard Supervisor.
• Help coordinate incoming and outgoing yard traffic to ensure safe movement of trucks and equipment.
• Assist customers with pickup/returns and direct inquiries to the appropriate team member.
• Collaborate with the yard team to keep equipment moving and daily operations running smoothly.

We are looking for a dependable, hardworking Yard Laborer / Yard Operations team member to support our daily yard operations. This hands‑on role is responsible for handling materials, maintaining and preparing rental equipment, fulfilling customer orders, and keeping our yard organized and safe.

Key Responsibilities:

• Load and Unload Equipment: Load and unload trench boxes, shoring equipment, and other materials from trucks using a forklift or, when necessary, manual handling.
• Maintain Rental Equipment: Clean, pressure wash, lubricate, repair, and repaint returned rental equipment to ensure it meets company rent‑ready standards.
• Assemble Equipment: Assist with assembling trench safety equipment and safely signal equipment operators during setup and movement.
• Manage Orders and Inventory: Pull and prepare customer orders, process returned equipment and materials, and count and organize inventory.
• Maintain a Safe Yard: Keep the yard, warehouse, and work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Use hand and power tools safely and report equipment issues or safety concerns to the Yard Supervisor.
• Support Yard Traffic: Help coordinate incoming and outgoing yard traffic as needed to ensure the safe movement of trucks, equipment, and materials.
• Assist Customers: Answer basic customer questions, assist with equipment pickup and returns, and direct inquiries to the appropriate team member.
• Support Daily Operations: Work collaboratively with the yard team to keep equipment moving, rental inventory ready, and daily operations running efficiently.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• 1-2 years of experience in a yard, warehouse, construction, or industrial environment preferred.
• Forklift operating experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Acceptable driving record and ability to operate company pickups and non‑CDL trucks as needed.
• Ability to pass a drug screening as required for this safety‑sensitive position.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel‑toe boots, safety glasses, work gloves, and rain gear when pressure washing.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, standing, bending, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime when needed.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, dependability, and commitment to workplace safety.
