Job summary

Colorado Barricade is a leading provider of traffic safety services and equipment in Colorado. The Yard Laborer will assist multiple departments, loading/unloading trucks and organizing the yard while supervising temporary laborers to ensure timely completion of jobs.

Responsibilities include safety compliance, accurate documentation, equipment handling, and maintaining inventory. The role requires flexibility with schedules and a readiness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with employees, customers, and schedules.
• Promote a professional and respectful atmosphere during customer interactions.
• Ensure Will Call DPRs are complete and accurate.
• Be flexible with schedules and stay late when necessary.
• Assist with safe lifting, loading, and unloading of equipment.
• Arrive at site wearing PPE and maintain PPE compliance.
• Lift, carry and stack materials and traffic signs.
• Clean, sweep and organize yard, shops, and inventory.
• Wash and clean equipment and traffic control devices and vehicles.
• Maintain inventory accuracy.
• Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Yard Laborer will assist any or all departments of the Company. The Yard Laborer must help to ensure the timely completion of jobs and projects. This includes loading and unloading trucks for Company employees and customers, organizing and supervising temporary laborers, and performing service work as required.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules and regulations of the Company.
• Efficiently communicate with all levels of people - employees, customers, accident information, maintenance service schedules, etc.
• Conduct themselves in a manner that promotes a professional and respectful atmosphere and ensure that the service encounter with the customer is an exceptional experience.
• Ensure that all Will Call DPR’s are complete and accurate.
• Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late, when necessary, with little or no notice.
• Learn/Responsible for safe lifting, loading, and unloading of equipment to and from trucks.
• Arrive at the work site on time wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), e.g., hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, masks, and earplugs as required, and when applicable, a respirator.
• Lift, carry and stack materials and traffic signs.
• Clean, sweep and organize yard, shops, and inventory.
• Wash and clean equipment and traffic control devices and vehicles
• Ensure a high focus on inventory accuracy.
• Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures
• All other duties as assigned.

• Self-motivated; capable of taking initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines.

• A strong knowledge of the traffic control/construction industry is a major plus.
• Willing to travel as needed.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

• Work is performed outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions / varying temperature, e.g., exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, dry and / or windy conditions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• Work includes prolonged and repeated lifting (including overhead) up to 80lbs., standing, walking, climbing, twisting, kneeling, reaching and feeling, climb and balance, crouching and crawling.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time, 8 to 10 hrs. per day up to 6 days per week

Requirements

• A Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR are preferred.
• Forklift certification and Flagger certification may be required.
• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
• Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check
