Job summary

Colorado Barricade Co. is seeking a Warehouse Technician to load and unload trucks, deliver products to customers and the sales team, and perform needed service work.

You will maintain accurate inventory, assist with cycle counts, restock materials, and follow safety rules while using PPE. The role requires a valid driver’s license, forklift certification, and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Organization and attention to details to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Basic math and writing skills are necessary to track, count, and record information.
  • Basic computer competency skills and ability to learn new software programs quickly in order to enter and track inventory levels and send communication to internal and external partners.
  • Requires regular communication regarding inventory needs, especially during peak season.
  • Must be able and eligible to safely operate and maintain the required equipment to fulfill warehousing responsibilities.
  • Able to independently maneuver through obstacles when challenges arise.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations of the Company.
  • Loading and unloading inbound and outbound shipments of materials, use of forklift may be required.
  • Receiving and verifying materials, quantities, and overall condition for orders received against the vendor packing list and purchase orders. Scans packing list to email, files, and report any issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for restocking orders received in appropriate bin location or staging special order materials for jobs and sales orders.
  • Packaging and shipping of materials and goods using the UPS small packages or freight companies
  • Make deliveries to local customers to support the product sales department.
  • Picking up purchased materials from vendors
  • Responsible for reporting low inventory and suggesting re-ordering checkpoints.
  • Performs daily inspections for hazards, cleans, sweeps, and organizes warehouse, yard, and all inventory areas.
  • Supports cycle counts and annual yearly inventory.
  • Ensure a high focus for inventory accuracy
  • Find ways to improve existing procedures and practices.
  • Assist the sign shop with painting, trimming blanks, and other duties as needed
  • Assist in other departments, such as traffic control, sign install, and pavement marking as needed
  • Able to provide proactive, clear & concise communication within and outside the organization.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
  • Reports on issues with equipment or materials.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late, when necessary, with little or no notice.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.
  • Arrive at the work site on time wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), e.g., hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, masks, and earplugs as required, and when applicable, a respirator.
  • Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

Working Environment/Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions / varying temperatures, e.g., exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, dry, and/or windy conditions.
  • General Lift/Carry Expectations:Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. regularly. Constant lifting/carrying of material used to complete the job.
  • Standing:Constant standing throughout the shift. Position may require standing for periods greater than two hours at a time, for a total of greater than eight hours.
  • Walking:Constant walking throughout shifts to complete worksite project.
  • Sitting:Occasional sitting for brief periods in vehicles when moving from one location to another.
  • Reaching:Constant reaching to load and unload material and equipment. Included constant overhead reaching.
  • Stooping/Bending/Kneeling:Constant stooping/bending/kneeling when putting down and picking up material and equipment.
  • Twisting:Frequent twisting of the body from side to side.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Frequent pushing and pulling of various work equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights of 7-25 ft.
Preferred Experience
  • Shipping & receiving small packages & freight
  • Stock Rotation
  • Route planning to maximize efficiency of deliveries
  • Self-starter, able to prioritize workday
Requirements
  • Minimum 2-3 years of previous warehouse experience
  • Valid Driver’s License and Clean MVR: Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean motor vehicle record.
  • Flagger Certification: Obtain and keep a Flagger certification.
  • Forklift Certification: Obtain and maintain a Forklift certification.
  • Drug Screening: Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens.
  • Background Check: Achieve satisfactory results on a pre-employment background check.
  • DOT: Hold or obtain a DOT medical card.
