Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a Utility Operator at our Portland Cement Plant in Colorado to safely operate and maintain equipment.

You will support facility needs, perform unloading functions, and assist with mechanical maintenance while adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of heavy equipment experience in manufacturing, plus an associate-level technical education and proficiency with MS Office tools.

Qualifications

  • Additional Education Preferred: Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical or a related field
  • Required Work Experience: 1 -3 years of heavy equipment operating in a heavy manufacturing environment
  • Required Technical Skills: Knowledge of processing methods and appropriate planning techniques. Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Travel Requirements: Local travel

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Utility Operator safely and efficiently performs a variety of tasks and equipment operation to assist the needs of the facility.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Maintain grounds, offices, warehouse, yard, etc.
  • Operate and conduct general maintenance on mobile equipment
  • Perform unloading functions
  • Assist with general mechanical maintenance
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Additional Education Preferred: Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical or a related field

Required Work Experience: 1 -3 years of heavy equipment operating in a heavy manufacturing environment

Required Technical Skills: Knowledge of processing methods and appropriate planning techniques. Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Travel Requirements: Local travel

Additional Requirements:

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and mechanical maintenance background; weldingexperience desired
  • Ability to work well on their own and in a team environment
  • Experience in the operation of heavy equipment
  • The candidate must be flexible regarding his/her work schedule
  • Knowledge of cement, the construction industry and integrated computer systems an asset.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit test.
