Quarry Operator
Quarry operators are given primary responsibility of performing all quarry tasks that require the use of heavy mobile equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring work is completed in a safe, efficient and timely manner and in compliance with environmental requirements.
Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by PRODUCTION
Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times
Actively support key safety initiatives at the facility and assist as needed to improve EHS
Ensure all work areas and equipment are clean, tidy and organized at all times
Trains and coaches other employees when needed
Utilizes mobile equipment including, but not limited to:
Haul truck up to and including 100 ton
Grader
Other duties as assigned on various shifts/schedules
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhereing to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
Education: High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree
Required Work Experience: Previous surface mining experience preferred but not required
Required Computer and Software Skills : Working proficiency with computers
Travel Requirements : Minimal
Additional Requirements :
Basic math, reading, and writing skills are required (English)
Familiarity with haul trucks, loaders, and various mine equipment
Ability to work independently, self-starter, yet able to participate within a team environment
Ability to operate equipment effectively
Strong ability to work self-directed
Flexible, able to adjust to changing priorities and propose improvement actions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be required to walk on rocky, irregular surfaces that may be muddy and in reduced lighting conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, confined space, outside weather conditions, low lighting, artificial lighting and explosives. The employee is regularly exposed to we and/or humid conditions, proximity to electrical equipment, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical/drug/alcohol test.
Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
