Job summary

JBS Foods in Sumter, SC is seeking a dependable yard worker to pull and drop trailers for loading and inspection. You will help keep trailers fueled and clean, supervise storage lot, and work with little supervision while adhering to safety guidelines.

This role requires physical stamina, ability to work weekends when needed, and a valid driver's license. You will operate pallet jacks and perform other duties as assigned by the lead or supervisor.

Qualifications

• Experience driving and handling loaded trailers in yard or dock environments.
• Ability to read basic instructions and perform simple math tasks.
• Operate pallet jacks; follow safety guidelines and PPE requirements.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Pull and drop trailers for loading and inspection on yard and dock.
• Maintain fuel in trailers and ensure cleanliness before loading.
• Keep storage lot organized and report hazards.
• Work in extreme weather and during weekends as needed.
• Perform duties with minimal supervision.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Pulling and dropping trailers on the yard and to the dock for loading and inspection of yard trailers
• Keep fuel in trailer and clean before loading
• Responsible for maintaining storage lot
• Work in extreme weather, available to work weekends or when needed
• Work with little supervision and all other duties given from lead or supervisor.

Qualifications: (Required/Desired):

Skills & knowledge needed for the effective performance of essential job functions:

• Truck driving, pulling, loading, and unloading trailers.
• Basic, math and reading skills.
• Pallet jack operator.
• Must have valid diver’s license
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Use required PPE and follow all safety guidelines of the company

Physical requirements:

• Stand duration of shift – all scheduled hours
• Use of both hands and able to grasp
• Good eye sight (with or without corrective lens)
• Able to reach and bend forward
• Some physical strength is needed
• Able to perform task that requires repetitive motion

Environmental conditions:

• Varying temperatures, occasionally wet, dirty and dusty environment
