Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. in Mosheim, TN seeks a Jockey Truck Driver to organize trailers on-site using the Yard Jockey truck. You may operate a forklift to move loads and assist with production while following safety rules.

The role requires at least 6 months of commercial vehicle or yard jockey experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass a driving test. CDL is not required, and equal opportunity employment is offered.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and have at least 6 months of experience driving a commercial vehicle or yard jockey.
• Complete daily equipment inspections and secure loads.
• Operate forklift as needed and follow company policies.
• Maintain shipping documents and assist with production.
• Pass driving test/skills evaluation in a yard jockey truck.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives in the facility staging shipping loads in various weather conditions.
• Loads and unloads trucks as needed to assist with production.
• Inspects equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Secures load and/or inspects load to ensure it has been properly secured.
• Maintains appropriate shipping documents as required.
• Maintains radio contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions on trailers/loads to be moved.
