Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Etna, OH is seeking a Non CDL Yard Driver to operate local yard tractors and day cabs. The role offers weekly pay, paid training, and a clear path into a driving career with strong benefits.

You will work Monday–Friday with 40+ hours, starting at 7:00 AM, with some overtime. Pay is $25.00 per hour with overtime possible, plus nationwide support and substantial career opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must maintain safety and compliance with DOT regulations
• Able to read and follow instructions accurately
• Demonstrates attention to detail in log books and records
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Must have verifiable driving experience in "like" equipment:
• 9 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Yard Driver Examination
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

This position does not require the operation of CDL-regulated equipment. However, candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard, but cannot drive on public roads
• The position requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records Other tasks as assigned
