Job summary

Coastal Elite Pro in Wisconsin is seeking a dedicated Yard Jockey to ensure safe, efficient yard operations. You will train with our Professional Driver Trainer to complete new-hire onboarding and then execute yard moves that influence gate times and customer satisfaction.

This role requires physical stamina, ability to pass DOT medical, and a strong commitment to safety and team collaboration. Third shift with overtime and cross-department support.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain CDL within 90 days.
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs, climb, reach and perform repetitive tasks.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding instructions.
• Must pass DOT physical, drug test, and background check.
• Strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections.
• Verify trailer contents and perform yard checks.
• Move empty and loaded trailers, set and verify temperatures.
• Shuttle trailers for load transfers.
• Load bales, recycled materials, electronics.
• Load pallets and unload reclaim trailers.
• Drive jockey wagons, reposition trailers, check trailer temperatures, complete yard inventory, and perform vehicle maintenance.

Seeking a Yard Jockey responsible for safe, efficient yard operations. The role involves working closely with a Professional Driver Trainer to complete new hire training, then performing yard moves that impact warehouse gate times and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections (2%)
• Verify trailer contents and perform yard checks (5%)
• Move empty and loaded trailers, set and verify temperatures (55%)
• Shuttle trailers for load transfers (7%)
• Load bales, recycled materials, electronics (10%)
• Load pallets and unload reclaim trailers (15%, 5%)
• Drive jockey wagons, reposition trailers, check trailer temperatures, complete yard inventory, and perform vehicle maintenance (including cleaning, fueling, and safety checks)

• Ability to obtain CDL within 90 days; prior trailer maneuvering experience preferred
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 lbs, climb, reach, and perform repetitive tasks
• Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding instructions, and working in various temperatures

Additional Details

Relevant experience of 1-2 years preferred. High school diploma or GED required. The role is on the third shift, requiring flexibility to work overtime and assist other departments as needed.
