American Wood Fibers, Inc. is hiring a Second Shift Yard Jockey & Raw Material Operator for its Laurinburg, NC facility.

You will unload trailers, supply raw materials to production systems, and operate mobile equipment safely. Daily duties include record-keeping and maintaining a clean, organized work area in a high-dust environment.

This full-time, in-person role requires strict adherence to safety procedures and may include overtime, including Sundays.

Second Shift Yard Jockey & Raw Material Operator

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 350+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the Second Shift Yard Jockey & Raw Material Operator role in our Laurinburg, NC facility .

OVERALL OBJECTIVE: Works in a safe and efficient manner to maximize production – unloading trailers and providing raw materials to the systems.

Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following:

• PRODUCTION:
• Operates various mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner unloading various raw material trailers and providing raw materials to the operational systems. Must be able to climb ladders, work on elevated work platforms, and operate mobile equipment.
• Maintain mobile equipment as per the SOP (including blowdowns and routine service). Responsible for accurate record keeping in moving material into and out of the raw room.
• Supports the raw room operator/yardman as needed.
• Assist with keeping plant organized and clean every day. Workstation and equipment cleanup is required daily and during production runs if needed.

• QUALITY:
• Maintains and verifies that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, office personnel, and customers. Assist in the implementation of new procedures as needed.

• SAFETY:
• Operates equipment as per the SOP, following directions as provided.
• Keeps work area clean and organized.
• Utilizes all of the required PPE as required by the task being performed. THIS IS A HIGH DUST environment and the equipment must be properly maintained while in operation.
• Helps keep others safe in the work place by looking out for them and participating in safety related improvements.
• Follow the safety protocols for the use of mobile equipment.

• OTHER ACTIVITIES;
• Available to work on any assigned shift including scheduled overtime ( includes Sunday). Establishes personal growth and works with fellow employees towards continuous improvement and teamwork.
