Wayne-Sanderson Farms is seeking a Yard Jockey to move trucks and trailers in the loading area, spot incoming trucks, and assist with loading and unloading to ensure smooth product flow to and from the processing plant.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, CDL in good standing (DOT certification and forklift certification preferred), and strong communication, organization, and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; CDL in good standing and DOT insurance compliance; forklift certification preferred.
• Experience driving tractor trailers and basic math/computer skills required.
• Good verbal and written communication; multilingual ability preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize.
• Customer-centric attitude with high energy and sense of urgency.

Responsabilités

• Move tractor trailers and trailers around the yard to load and unload.
• Spot incoming trucks and relay information to the dock.
• Assist with loading and unloading to maintain product flow.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in solutions.
• Wear PPE and follow safety policies; perform other duties as assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Yard Jockey moves trucks and trailers around in loading area, spots incoming trucks, and assists in loading and unloading trucks as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Move tractor trailer trucks and trailers around yard to load and unload Spot incoming trucks, relaying information to dock Assist with unloading an loading trucks as needed to help product flow to and from processing plantt Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culture Perform additional relevant duties as assigned

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS

High School diplomas or equivalent preferred CDL License in good standing and insurance DOT certification Forklift certifiable

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Experience in driving tractor trailer Basic math and computer skills Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner; multi-lingual strongly preferred Ability to handle and resolve most issues in an efficient and effective manner while ensuring confidential information is relayed only on a need-to-know basis Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC) Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift Will be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production
