Schedule: 2nd Shift 1pm- Close (occasionally 7am-Close) 5-6 days per week

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 + Attendance Bonus

Your Role: Yard Jockey

As a Yard Jockey/Spotter you will be responsible for efficiently moving trailers, containers, and equipment within the yard or terminal, ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced environment. This position requires operating yard trucks or similar vehicles to position and organize trailers for loading/unloading, while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in the yard.

What You’ll Do:

• Safely operate non-CDL yard trucks or terminal equipment to move trailers to assigned locations within the yard.
• Accurately monitor and fuel levels and temperature readings.
• Ensure the proper positioning of trailers for loading docks, gates, or other required locations.
• Perform routine checks on yard equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and reporting any issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard environment, including checking for hazards and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff and drivers to ensure smooth transitions and operations.
• Assist with the docking and undocking of trailers as needed.
• Communicate effectively with shipping and receivers to ensure operational efficiency.
• Perform minor maintenance or repairs on yard equipment as necessary.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times.

What You Need to Succeed:

Valid driver’s license required (non-CDL).

Must be able to operate a non-CDL yard truck or similar equipment safely and effectively.

Knowledge of yard operations and safety procedures is a plus.

Flexibility to work nights and weekends.

Ability to read and interpret SOPs, safety rules, and manuals.

Strong attention to detail and commitment.

Capable of interpreting instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Willingness to assist others and a team-oriented mindset.

Commitment to attendance, punctuality, and following instructions.

Ability to work quickly and efficiently.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

• Outside in various weather conditions (including extreme heat or cold).
• Exposure to loud noises.
• Constant climbing, standing and walking 8+ hours.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
