Job summary

Nebraskaland Inc. is seeking a dependable Yard Jockey in the Bronx to move trailers and support warehouse flow. This full-time role requires attention to safety and efficient trailer placement at dock doors, with pre/post trip inspections and strong communication with warehouse teams.

Two shifts are available: 4:00 pm-1:00 am and 7:00 pm-4:00 am. Pay is $1,225 per week for a five-day work week, with ongoing opportunities to contribute to a safe, organized logistics operation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Move trailers and trucks between parking spaces and dock doors.
• Line up trailers against loading doors to enable loading/unloading.
• Inspect trailers for damage, safety issues, and mechanical problems; perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Maintain accurate yard inventory and monitor trailer status on-site.
• Communicate with dispatchers, dock workers and supervisors to keep movements safe and on schedule.
• Enforce safety procedures and keep yard organized; monitor traffic and pedestrians.

Position SummaryA major food distributor in the Bronx is hiring a dependable, safety-driven Yard Jockey. Conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports equipment, trailer or truck issues to management.Yard Checks: Walking or driving through the lot to keep an accurate inventory of which trailers are on site and their status.Maintaining Flow: Preventing traffic jams and delays in the busy yardMaintain communication: Stay in constant contact with dispatchers, dock workers, and supervisors to keep trailer movements safe and on schedule.Prioritize site safety: Watch for pedestrians and other equipment, follow all traffic rules and keep the yard organized throughout the shift.Coordinate operations: Partner with warehouse, transportation, and dispatch teams, monitors yard conditions, and quickly report any operational issues.Enforce compliance: Follow all company safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for employees and visitors.License & Hours: Valid Class B CDL required (Class A preferred) with tractor-trailer capability.
