Job summary

A leading logistics provider is looking for a Hostler in Dallas, Texas, to manage the movement of trailers and ensure the efficient loading and unloading of freight. Responsibilities include backing various trailer sizes, maintaining cleanliness and safety of work areas, and inspecting equipment. Candidates must have a high school diploma, be at least 18 years old, and pass background checks and drug screenings. Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Satisfactory background check required.
• Ability to operate a hostler/yard dog.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers from door to door and certain locations on the yard.
• Load and unload trailers and move freight across the terminal dock.
• Inspect equipment for defects and safe operating conditions.
• Clean, sweep, and wash dock, trailers, yard, tractor, and other work areas.

Skills

Proficient in backing 28 foot, 48 foot, and 53 foot vans

Good listening and communication skills

Ability to multi-task

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
