Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings, Inc. is hiring a Hostler Driver - Ground Person to move containers and trailers in the rail yard, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

After training, you will assist crane operators and help prepare railcars for loading and unloading while driving trailers and chassis. The role requires strong safety knowledge, the ability to work in a busy environment, and the flexibility to operate during a 6pm–6am shift.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to hostler operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to maintain attention to detail and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate hostler trucks to move containers and trailers within the terminal yard.
• Follow dispatch instructions and prioritize tasks for timely movements.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of hostler trucks and report issues.
