Job summary

Core-Mark International in Sanford, NC is hiring a Yard Driver, Non-CDL to support our food distribution operations. You will move tractor trailers on company property, loading docks and designated parking areas, adhering to DOT regulations and safety policies.

The role requires 6+ months driving experience, a valid non-commercial license, and the ability to work the Sunday-Thursday, 6pm start schedule. Pay ranges from $18 to $20 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

• 6+ months driving experience.
• Must be able to work scheduled times and overtime.
• Valid non-commercial driver’s license.
• Meet state licensing/certification requirements where applicable.
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.
• Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.
• Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving.
• Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always; completes all required documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Purpose:

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company – building lasting relationships with our customers! As a Yard Driver, Non-CDL, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting tractor trailers on Operating Company property, including loading docks and designated parking areas, and to offsite maintenance or inspection facilities.

The Yard Driver, Non-CDL is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
