Job summary

Core-Mark is hiring a Yard Driver in Illinois. You will be responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from loading docks, parking loaded or empty trailers, and ensuring safe, timely operations under DOT rules.

Typical pay is $20.00 per hour with a Sunday-Thursday schedule. Company benefits including health, 401(k), and paid time off may be offered, reflecting a growth-friendly, safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Valid non-commercial driver's license.
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years.
• Pass road test.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.
• Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.
• Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving.
• Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Completes all required documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Details

• Pay: $20.00 per hour
• Schedule: Sunday - Thursday

Position Purpose

The Yard Driver is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ months yard hostler/switcher experience
• Class A license a plus
• Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., PeopleNet)
