Job summary

Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC (SHM) is seeking a Yard Hand at the Great Oak Landing location to assist with hauling, blocking and launching boats, and performing general marina maintenance to help meet service objectives.

This part-time seasonal role requires physical stamina, the ability to operate yard machinery (including forklift), and willingness to work overtime. A high school diploma is preferred; forklift and boat-handling experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Heavy forklift experience a plus.
• Ability to ascend and descend a ladder.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Basic boat handling skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Haul, block and launch boats.
• Perform general boat maintenance and service work to include, but not limited to: waxing, bottom painting and zinc replacement.
• Work closely with the Yard Foreman and assist fellow crewmembers as needed.
• Operate yard machinery including 75-Ton Travelift, 35-Ton hydraulic trailer, forklift, power washer, etc.
• Grounds maintenance and marina cleanliness.
• Availability to work overtime when required.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

Description

The Yard Hand is responsible for assisting with carrying out tasks required to successfully achieve the service department objectives.

*this position is Part Time Seasonal

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Haul, block and launch boats
• Perform general boat maintenance and service work to include, but not limited to: waxing, bottom painting and zinc replacement
• Work closely with the Yard Foreman and assist fellow crewmembers as needed

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately

Technical and Physical Requirements
