Job summary

Sysco Front Royal is seeking a Yard Gate Operator to ensure yard accuracy and support inbound/outbound truck traffic. You will inspect trailers, operate SWMS and TMS, and direct carriers, drivers and visitors to the correct locations.

This full-time role requires maintaining accurate yard data, performing temperature and seal checks, coordinating with the warehouse team, and upholding safety procedures to meet productivity goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, or one year warehouse experience.
• Basic math and computer skills required.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound and outbound trailers for damage and seal integrity.
• Act as liaison between carriers, drivers, contractors and Sysco facility for safety.
• Maintain yard data using SWMS.
• Verify outbound trailers in SWMS and confirm temperature and seals.
• Log drivers and shipments in Teams and inbound/outbound logs.
• Coordinate with warehouse team to resolve issues and improve yard processes.
• Print and email hazmat/bill of lading documentation as required.
• Ensure safety compliance and proper PPE use at all times.
