Job summary

JB Harris Transport LLC is seeking a dedicated Yard Associate to manage daily yard operations, inspect and move heavy equipment, and keep the area organized and safe. You will assist with pressure washing, maintenance tasks, and customer pickups/drop-offs.

The role emphasizes strong communication, reliability, and adherence to safety standards in an outdoor, fast-paced environment. Valid driver’s license and physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous yard/warehouse/inventory experience preferred.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery safely (forklifts, cranes).
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Basic understanding of inventory management systems and software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in various weather.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload heavy equipment using forklifts, cranes, and other machinery.
• Conduct inspections of equipment on check-in/check-out and note damages or maintenance needs.
• Pressure wash equipment as needed to maintain cleanliness.
• Organize and store equipment and materials for easy access.
• Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment when required.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular checks.
• Enter and update inventory data in the management system.
• Prepare daily reports on equipment status and inventory levels.
• Greet customers and drivers, providing excellent service and assistance.
• Coordinate with operations and procurement for efficient yard operations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
