Job summary

OnTrac seeks a Warehouse Hostler/Yard Driver in Romeoville, IL to safely position and maneuver trailers to and from the dock. The role works closely with the yard team and Operations Management.

Expect full pre-trip inspections, DOT compliance, and clear communication of trailer movements to leadership. Requires at least 1 year of driving with trailers, a clean driving record, and the ability to pass background checks and TSA screening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (GED) preferred or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year driving experience, preferably with trailers or towed machinery
• Must successfully complete all pre-employment screenings and background checks
• Must be at least 18 years old, have clean driving record and valid ID, pass TSA screening
• Must be able to provide a 5–10 year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment per the Company Safety Program
• Pre-trip and inspect each trailer to meet DOT compliance standards
• Position trailers on the dock using a yard switcher tractor
• Switch trailers as needed during the daily sort and hook up sets of trailers for line hauls
• Clearly communicate trailer moves and numbers with operations management
