Job summary

IntelliSource is seeking a dependable Yard Driver for a fast-paced distribution facility in the United States. This role involves safely moving and staging tractor-trailers, coordinating with dock and transportation teams, and ensuring compliance with DOT requirements.

The position supports various facility priorities with potential for extended engagement based on business needs. The ideal candidate has experience operating tractor-trailers, strong attention to safety, and the ability to adapt

Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License; Class A CDL preferred or required based on site operations.
• At least six months of experience operating a tractor-trailer unit.
• Ability to meet driving requirements and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to complete required logs, inspections, and DOT documentation.
• Ability to work independently with dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailer and yard equipment in accordance with DOT and company policies.
• Coordinate with dock, warehouse, and transportation teams to move trailers to docks, staging, and parking.
• Transport and position trailers accurately within timelines.
• Inspect trucks, tractors, and trailers for safety and proper operation.
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections; report repairs as needed.
• Maintain fuel levels and report maintenance needs.
• Complete trailer inventory checks and verify trailer numbers and locations.
• Maintain accurate records and DOT documentation.
• Couple/uncouple equipment safely; ensure trailers are secured before/after movement.
• Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and communicate professionally.
