Job summary

Kenco Logistics in United States, Kansas, is seeking a Yard Driver to safely move trailers in the yard and, when needed, operate a forklift. The role involves inspecting yard equipment, coordinating trailer movements using YMS, and maintaining clean, organized yards.

You will work closely with the office to ensure smooth operations. Qualified candidates have a valid driver’s license, at least 1 year of trailer spotting experience, and distribution environment exposure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of 1 year of verifiable trailer spotting experience.
• Minimum of six months related experience in a distribution environment.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Backs various size trailers into dock/yard spaces, engages dock locks, chocks, and deploys trailer stands.
• Parks and organizes trailers on the warehouse yard.
• Mounts/dismounts the yard spotter and slides trailer tandems.
• Performs daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard tractor and fills out DVIRs.
• Uses YMS to coordinate inbound and outbound trailer movements.
• Operates forklift to move shipments between trailer movements.
• Coordinates with office clerk on trailer movements and maintains workflow.
• Reports unsafe conditions, injuries, or damage to management.
• Completes all system and manual reports/logs accurately and timely.
