Job summary

Kenco Logistics is seeking a Yard Driver in Kansas to safely move trailers in the yard and assist with forklift tasks as needed. The role requires attention to safety, ability to inspect equipment, and coordination with office staff for efficient trailer movements.

Ideal candidates will have a valid driver's license, at least 1 year of spotting experience, and forklift experience. This is a full-time on-site position requiring occasional exposure to inclement weather.

Qualifications

• Willing to work in inclement weather.

Responsibilities

• Safely backs trailers into assigned dock/yard spaces and secures them.
• Parks and organizes trailers on the yard.
• Operate yard spotter and slide trailer tandems as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard tractor and complete DVIRs.
• Coordinate with office for trailer movements to ensure no downtime.
• Maintain safe operation and reporting of any issues.

May also be required to operate a forklift to move products or shipments.FunctionsSafely backs various size trailers into assigned dock/yard spaces, engages dock locks, and/or chocks, and deploys trailer stands for all trailers spotted to the dock.Parks and organizes trailers on the warehouse yard.Mount and dismount the yard spotter frequently and slide trailer tandems alonePerforms daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on yard tractor and fill out DVIR’sUtilizes YMS (or applicable tools) to make inbound and outbound trailer movements.Assist the refueling of yard tractorsOperate forklift to move shipments between trailer movements.Coordinates with office clerk on trailer movements.
