• Drive trailers to and from docks inside the yard.
• Work closely in a team to complete daily tasks and goals.
• Adhere to all company policies and safety rules.
• Hook and unhook airlines to trailers.
• Perform pre- and post-operation audits.
• Follow instructions via two-way radio.
• Report safety and mechanical issues promptly per SOP.
• Support other DC departments as required.
• Follow OSHA regulations and all safety requirements.

Job description

The Yard Driver operates yard trucks to shuttle trailers between designated locations and verifies trailer placement. This position will support the overall flow of freight by maintaining an organized yard, following safety protocols, and ensuring trailers are ready for loading, unloading, and Over the Road driver pickup.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive trailers to and from receiving/shipping docks inside the yard
• Work closely in a team environment to complete daily tasks and goals to include third party vendors
• Adherence to all company policies to include all safety rules
• Hooking and unhooking airlines to trailers
• Pre and Post Operation Audits
• Following instructions provided by two-way radio
• Reporting safety and mechanical issues promptly and accurately according to the standard operating procedure
• Support other departments of the Distribution Center as business requires
• Follow OSHA Regulations and all safety requirements
• Additional duties as assigned by manager

• Decision making: Works under direct supervision and follows established and standardized processes.
• Travel: Up to 5%

The anticipated rate for this position is $23.50 per hour depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 152 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays).
