George’s is seeking a Lot Driver to back trailers into and out of the loading dock, ensuring safe yard movement and adherence to DOT regulations. The role requires a valid license, clean driving record, and the ability to pass an MVR background check and PIV test.

Experience as a yard dog/lot driver is preferred. The position emphasizes safety, timely dock operations, and weekend on-call availability as needed.

Formación

Required valid driver’s license, must be 18 years or older, clean driving record and ability to pass MVR background check.
Ability to pass the PIV written test.
Preferred previous experience as a Lot Driver (yard dog operator).

Responsabilidades

Back trailers into and out of the loading dock, safely maneuvering trucks in the yard.
Perform pre- and post-trip checks as per protocol.
Obey all local, state, federal and DOT regulations.
Maintain a safe work environment and good attendance per company policies.
Chock wheels of trailers when backing into the dock.
Inspect trailers (lot check) and assist with docking as needed.
Assist jack drivers with moving items in the dock area.
Only move trailer when light is green.
Communicate professionally with team members and truck drivers.
When using an over-the-road tractor, ensure the fifth wheel pin is pulled and not re-hooked.
Be on call during weekends as needed.
