Williams Lumber and Home Centers in Pleasant Valley, NY is seeking a yard associate to support customer service, stock management, and material handling in the lumber yard. You will cut stock to size, prepare deliveries, and assist drivers with loading while maintaining safe, organized storage areas.
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, with forklift familiarity and a strong focus on safety and reliability in a physically active outdoors
Performs physical tasks involving the movement, storing, and maintenance of lumber and building materials as well as performing customer service and general yard maintenance.
As with all other jobs, other duties may be assigned. Management reserves the right to reassign an individual in this position to another position in the interest of efficient personnel utilization.

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma; or twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and comprehend correspondence and memos. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, associates, and venders.
Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardizations exist.
