Sammons Industrial is seeking a dedicated yard worker to keep our equipment yard safe, clean, and organized in Austin, TX. You will prepare equipment for customers, perform routine checks, and assist with loading and unloading to ensure smooth operations.

This role requires willingness to work outdoors, physical stamina, and a team-first attitude. Training and growth opportunities are available within our ESOP-driven family of companies.

Qualifications

• You must be able to perform physical labor outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Demonstrated reliability and ability to work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment for customers.
• Wash, fuel, inspect, and stage equipment for pickup or delivery, ensuring safety items are checked.
• Help load and unload equipment and maintain accurate inventory locations.
• Keep the yard, dock, warehouse, and equipment areas clean and organized.
• Communicate fuel usage and equipment status with the office and branch team.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare equipment for customers.
• Wash, fuel, inspect, and stage equipment for pickup or delivery, making sure safety items are checked and equipment is ready to work.
• Help load and unload equipment, organize incoming and outgoing units, and maintain accurate equipment and inventory locations.
• Keep the yard, dock, warehouse, and equipment areas clean, safe, organized, and free of hazards.
• Communicate fuel usage and equipment status with the office and branch team, and pitch in wherever needed to keep the operation running smoothly.

What You’ll Bring

• A willingness to work outdoors in a physical, hands-on role, including frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license.
• The ability—or willingness to learn—to safely operate equipment and perform basic equipment and facility maintenance.
• A dependable, team-first attitude and the ability to keep moving in a fast-paced environment.
• Rental, construction, or equipment experience is a plus, but it’s not required.
