Job summary

Knight Material Technologies in East Canton, OH, is seeking a Y Press Operator to ensure on-time delivery of customer product requirements with the highest quality, while upholding our safety and team values.

The role reports to the Production Supervisor and is non-exempt. Requires 1 year of heavy industrial machinery experience and kiln/press/ extrusion exposure; HS diploma or GED preferred; candidates with 2+ years in manufacturing are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• One (1) year heavy duty industrial machinery experience.
• Understands, adheres to, and reinforces safety policies.

• Two (2) or more years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains equipment to maximize production while following safety rules.
• Builds die within specifications once trained.
• Recognizes differences between bricks that pass and fail quality standards.
• Trains to troubleshoot common issues.
• Performs routine checks of equipment and maintains logs.
• Maintains a clean, safe workspace and follows safety protocols.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

The Y Press Operator is responsible for the completion of customer product requirements on time and with the highest quality within an assigned area while maintaining an environment that focuses on the Knight Material Technologies How We Work Principles of Safety and Compliance, Customer Focus, Respect, Integrity, Problem Solvers, and Teamwork.

$3 Potential increase once fully trained at 6 months! $3 Shift Differential for 2nd / 3rd Shifts!

Responsibilities

• Consistently demonstrates all KMT core values (Safety, Respect, Integrity, Customer Focus, Problem Solving).
• Safely operates and maintains all equipment in the plant to produce maximum production rates while adhering to safety rules and regulations, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Builds die within specifications once trained
• Recognizes difference between bricks that pass and fail quality standards
• Trains to trouble shoot common issues.
• Performs routine checks of equipment and maintains appropriate logs.
• Performs housekeeping in the plant area to ensure a safe and clean workplace.
• Makes necessary adjustments to always ensure operations reliability.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Must be willing and able to squat, bend and lift to 50lbs
• Must be willing and able to stand and work up to a 10-hour day in a non-climate-controlled facility
• Willing and able to work in an environment that can be hot, humid, dusty, and noisy.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility
