Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the designated YMCA facility.

Essential Functions

1. Perform daily cleaning of assigned areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, trash removal, window cleaning, spill cleanup, and floor maintenance.
2. Maintain cleaning equipment, supplies, and products, ensuring safe storage and proper care.
3. Operate vacuuming equipment, including carpet shampooing or stain removal as needed.
4. Follow all instructions for cleaning chemicals and supplies.
5. Ensure proper supply levels and report inventory needs to the supervisor.
6. Interact positively and professionally with members and staff.
7. Report maintenance issues to the supervisor promptly.
8. Assist with special projects as assigned.
9. Read and write legibly and clearly.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Education

• High School diploma preferred.

Experience

• Previous experience in commercial housekeeping required.

Certifications & Requirements

• Janitorial, Custodial, or Floor Maintenance certification preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification and Safety training required within 30 days of hire.
• Must be 18 years of age.
