Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a X-Ray Technologist FGP (Float).

In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Performs other duties as assigned.
2. Maintains supplies and cleanliness of space, restocks supplies as needed, and notifies supervisor of any shortages.
3. Assists section in completion of special projects, reports, and activities.
4. Maintains cooperative and professional relationships with patients, physicians, nurses, and office and clinical staff.
5. Demonstrates skill in equipment set-up, utilization, and proper maintenance procedures. Performs visual and manual quality control checks of X-ray equipment including monitors used for routine dictation/reading of clinical images.
6. Uses imaging and peripheral equipment safely and productively in accordance with prescribed procedures. Observes and reports any malfunctioning of the equipment.
7. Recognizes medical emergencies and notifies nurse, PA, and/or MD immediately. Demonstrates knowledge of proper radiation safety procedures.
8. Understands image processing software, performs segmentation and analysis of images, and transmits images to PACS and the electronic medical record.
9. Generates high-quality hard copies of images when necessary and maintains cleanliness of the radiographic area.
10. Follows special instructions indicated on radiographic requisition.
11. Explains procedures and equipment to patients clearly, ensuring understanding and comfort.
12. Uses standard procedures to identify the correct patient using two identifiers (full name and birth date).
13. Effectively assesses patient information and status, following appropriate procedures accordingly.
14. Demonstrates ability to access patient information and maintains confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology, New York State license or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology, and certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). High School diploma or equivalent.

Required Licenses: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

Preferred Qualifications:
College graduate.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $90,444.88 - $101,680.88 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
