Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners is seeking a Massachusetts-licensed X-ray Technologist to perform radiographic imaging with ARRT certification. The role emphasizes patient safety, HIPAA compliance, and high-quality image production within a fast-paced radiology workflow.

Responsibilities include patient positioning, exposure factor adjustments, image preparation for physicians, and EMR documentation. Knowledge of Athena/Centricity or Medi-Tech is a plus. Competitive benefits and PTO are offered.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved school of radiology.
  • Licensed X-Ray Technologist in Massachusetts.
  • ARRT Certification.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and insurance regulations.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and procedures.
  • Experience with medical office procedures and terminology.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems is a plus (Athena/Centricity, Medi-Tech).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional etiquette.

  • Reviews patient identification and image quality.

  • Uploads images to patient charts as needed.
  • Maintains a clean, sanitized workstation.
  • Upholds professional conduct with patients and staff.

Job description

What you’ll do:

  • Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Acquires digital radiographic images as ordered by clinicians with x-ray machines.
  • Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
  • Reviews for proper identification and quality check.
  • Prepares digital imaging for reading by physicians.
  • Transports patients from radiologic diagnostic procedures to exam room.
  • Uploads images to patient chart if necessary.
  • Burns CDs requested by patient after release is obtained.
  • Files films, discs and records if necessary.
  • Maintains a clean workstation by sanitizing in between each patient and at the end of every shift.
Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Graduate of an approved school of radiology required.
  • Licensed X-Ray Technologist in Massachusetts.
  • ARRT Certified.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and other regulatory policies.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment.
  • Medical office procedures, policies, practices and medical terminology, telephone protocol and professional etiquette.
  • Electronic medical systems is a plus, including Athena/Centricity, Medi-Tech and the like.
  • Develops and maintains effective and professional working relationships with patients, medical staff, coworkers, and the public by displaying sympathy, tact and understanding.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, adjust to various personalities, work with a diverse population, demonstrating patience and professionalism.
  • Promotes teamwork through collaboration.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Represents the clinic in a professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all patient issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
