Job summary

eastrivermedicalimaging seeks an XRAY Technologist to perform radiographic imaging in NYC and Westchester, reporting to Radiology leadership. The role requires ARRT-R certification, NYS RT license with Injection, and current BLS, with compensation $40–$44/hr and a sign-on bonus.

The position covers positioning, exposure decision-making, and radiation safety to deliver high-quality images for diagnosis.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent; or six months to one year related experience.
  • ARRT-R X-ray specialty certification.
  • NYS RT license with Injection and active BLS training.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging.
  • Determines exposure factors based on height, weight, and body part being imaged.
  • Explains procedures to reduce anxiety and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Operates imaging equipment and adjusts controls to achieve proper detail and density.
  • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patient and staff.
  • Performs routine and specialized radiology procedures, including nuclear medicine and sonography.

Summary

Performs radiographic X-ray procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries by performing the following duties.

Duties
  • Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physician.
  • Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Moves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
  • Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
  • Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including nuclear medicine and sonography.

Education/Experience
