Job summary

Envision Imaging in Texas is seeking a full-time X-ray technologist to perform diagnostic X-ray procedures, adjust equipment and position patients, and assist physicians with contrast media and tomographic exams.

The role requires ARRT certification, state license, CPR, and strong communication and teamwork. Schedule includes Mon–Fri shifts with a pay range of $27.29–$35.18 per hour, with benefits noted in company materials.

Responsibilities

• Interface with patient to obtain history and explain the procedure.
• Review charts for consent and implants; screen for allergies.
• Obtain prior films and perform high-quality scans for radiologist.
• Perform exams while monitoring patient care and safety.
• Transfer images to other locations as needed.
• Coordinate scan protocols with Radiologist.
• Maintain and inspect equipment; report issues.
• Interact with lead technologist and center manager.

Job description

Envision Imaging is seeking a Full-Time X-ray technologist to join our team in Texas!
Mon. & Tues. 8:00 AM-5:30 PM / Wed.12:00 PM - 5:30 PM / Thurs. 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM / Fri. 8:00 AM- 5:30 PM
Position Pay Range $27.29 - $35.18

Summary/Objective:

Performs various types of diagnostic X-Ray procedures, adjusts X-Ray equipment settings, determines proper voltage and exposure and positions patient. Performs specific procedures utilizing ionizing radiation. Assists physicians in assigned examination utilizing contrast media and/or specific tomographic examinations.

Essential Functions

1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
3. Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
4. Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.
6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.

Education/Certifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
• Registry in Radiography (R)
• Current license from state medical board (if applicable)
• Current CPR certification
