Job summary

Spire Orthopedic Partners in Danbury, CT is seeking a Radiology Technician to perform diagnostic radiographic procedures across multiple exam rooms and floors. You will operate CR and DR x-ray equipment, review orders, and ensure accurate documentation in PACS.

The role requires a two-year radiology program graduate, CT licensure, and 2+ years of experience; orthopaedic exposure is preferred. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved school of radiology required (two-year course).
• Minimum two years' experience as X-ray technician preferred.
• Orthopaedical experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Licensure: State of Connecticut; State of New York, a plus.
• ARRT registered or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Operate CR and DR x-ray equipment.
• Perform all diagnostic radiographic procedures within assigned areas.
• Perform radiographs promptly and professionally as observed by supervisor.
• Review necessary documentation to perform diagnostic procedures.
• Review special instructions from medical staff and supervisor.
• Perform preventative visual and manual inspections for radiographic rooms and equipment.
• Enter and bill charges for procedures accurately.
• Document demographic information in PACS.
• Assist in training new staff and contribute to team growth.
• Maintain quality control and QA activities per department guidelines.

Job description

What you’ll do:

• Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Knowledgeable in operating CR and DR x-ray equipment.
• Performs all diagnostic radiographic procedures within assigned areas.
• Performs radiographs in a prompt and professional manner as observed by supervisor.
• Reviews all necessary documentation to perform diagnostic procedures.
• Reviews special instructions from medical staff and supervisor.
• Performs preventative visual and manual inspections for each radiographic room and equipment assigned ensuring appropriate maintenance and cleanliness.
• Performs daily room/equipment inspections. Reports all necessary problems to appropriate individuals.
• Participates in the training and instruction of new staff.
• Demonstrates skills that lead to team growth and professionalism.
• Shows ability to function in any position in the radiology department, including 3 floors and 43 exam rooms.
• Accurately enters and bills charges for procedures.
• Types all demographic patient information from the patient\'s chart into PACS.
• Plans and /or implements safe transfer of patients in wheelchair.
• Contributes to an effective quality management and quality control program for assigned areas that is consistent with overall quality plan of ONS.
• Monitors Quality Assurance activities in accordance with guidelines set forth within the department
