RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an X-ray Technician for a multispecialty practice in Hamilton, NJ. The role involves a variety of tasks across locations, including preparing patients, assisting physicians, and coordinating radiographic readings.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1–3 years in diagnostic radiography, ARRT and NJ licenses, and CPR per AHA. Proficiency in Word/Outlook and medical terminology is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician’s office
• 1-3 years experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography
• ARRT x-ray technologist certification and New Jersey state license
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
• CPR Certification approved by AHA

Responsibilities

• Assists physician with evaluation and treatment of patient
• Coordinates the reading of all x-ray films with physician
• Maintains accurate record of all x-ray films and associated logs
• Performs basic radiologist tests and oversees the production of x-rays
• Prepares patients for physician evaluation
• Represents the clinic in a professional manner in person, by phone, and in writing correspondence
• Relays information to patients regarding preparation of laboratory tests and examinations

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician’s office
• 1-3 experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography
• Certification by American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Knowledge andproficiencywith Microsoft Word and Outlookisrequired
• CPR Certification approved by AHA

Essential Functions:

• Assistsphysician with evaluation and treatment of patient
• Assistsphysician with specialprocedures
• Coordinates the reading of all x-ray films withphysician
• Initiating andmaintainingcorrespondence with patients and insurancecompanies
• Maintainsaccuraterecord of all x-ray films to includeappropriate logentries, x-ray documentation for jackets andaccuratefiling of films
• Performs basic functions such as photocopying, scanning andfaxing
• Performs basic radiologist tests and oversees the production of x-rays
• Prepares patients for physician evaluation
• Relays information to patientsregardingpreparation of laboratory tests and examinations Arranges examining room instruments and equipment and keeps the examining rooms neat andclean
• Representsthe clinic in a professional manner in person, in telephone conversations, and in writtencorrespondence
• Respects andmaintainsprivacy and dignity of patients andassures patient confidentiality at all times
• Takes patients’ medical history, informationpertaining tothe patients’ visit to the doctor and record vital signs of patients to help the doctor with diagnosis
