  • ARRT x-ray technologist license and New Jersey state license.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook required.
  • CPR Certification approved by AHA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physician with evaluation and treatment of patient.
  • Assist physician with special procedures.
  • Coordinate reading of all x-ray films with physician.
  • Maintain communication with patients and insurance companies.
  • Log and file all x-ray films and related documentation.
  • Perform basic functions such as photocopying, scanning and faxing.
  • Oversee production of x-rays and basic radiology tasks.
  • Prepare patients for physician evaluation.
  • Inform patients about lab test/an examination preparation.
  • Arrange equipment and keep exam rooms clean and organized.
  • Represent the clinic professionally in person and in writing.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

An X-Ray Technician for multispecialty practice, Overview:

Requirements:
  • 1. High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2. Minimum one year experience in an x-ray department in a hospital or physician’s office
  • 3. 1-3 experience as an x-ray technician performing diagnostic radiography
  • 4. Certification by American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license and New Jersey state license
  • 5. Knowledge of medical terminology
  • 6. Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook is required
  • 7. CPR Certification approved by AHA
Essential Functions:
  • Assists physician with evaluation and treatment of patient
  • Assists physician with special procedures
  • Coordinates the reading of all x-ray films with physician
  • Initiating and maintaining correspondence with patients and insurance companies
  • Maintains accurate record of all x-ray films to include appropriate log entries, x-ray documentation for jackets and accurate filing of films
  • Performs basic functions such as photocopying, scanning and faxing
  • Performs basic radiologist tests and oversees the production of x-rays
  • Prepares patients for physician evaluation
  • Relays information to patients regarding preparation of laboratory tests and examinations
  • Arranges examining room instruments and equipment and keeps the examining rooms neat and clean
  • Represents the clinic in a professional manner in person, in telephone conversations, and in written correspondence
  • Respects and maintains privacy and dignity of patients and assures patient confidentiality at all times
  • Takes patients’ medical history, information pertaining to the patients’ visit to the doctor and record vital signs of patients to help the doctor with diagnosis
