Position Summary
A rapidly expanding, innovative healthcare organization in the Greater New Orleans area is seeking a skilled, versatile X-Ray Technician to join its dynamic primary care team.

In this dual-capacity position, you will provide critical diagnostic radiological imaging while assisting with general primary care clinical duties under provider supervision. Because dedicated X-ray volume fluctuates throughout the day, blending imaging expertise with medical assisting ensures active team involvement and comprehensive patient care delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Radiological Imaging: Perform high-quality X-ray examinations for patients (including geriatric populations), ensuring optimal positioning, appropriate radiation protection, and accurate exposure settings.
- Dual Clinical & Medical Assisting Support: Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain vital signs, perform phlebotomy/blood draws, conduct EKGs, assist with minor procedures, change dressings, and sanitize/stock treatment rooms.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with radiation safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and internal quality assurance standards.
- EMR & Administrative Documentation: Accurately log diagnostic imaging parameters, update electronic medical records (EMR), maintain digital image files, and track referral workflows.
- Patient Care Coordination: Deliver compassionate, high-touch customer service, explaining imaging procedures clearly to reduce patient anxiety and collaborating with multidisciplinary providers.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited program for Radiological Technology or Basic X-Ray Machine Operator required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.
- Licensure & Credentials:
- Current state licensure or certification to practice medical imaging in accordance with Louisiana state regulations (ARRT registration/certification required or eligible).
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience as an X-Ray Technologist in an outpatient, urgent care, or primary care environment.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and standard healthcare computer applications.
- Interpersonal Capabilities: Strong clinical multitasking ability, warm patient communication skills, and a collaborative team-player mentality.
