Job summary

Nixa Public Schools is seeking a Site Aide for the XLT before- and after-school program. The role focuses on implementing program vision and district mission at each site, and providing a safe, engaging environment for students.

You will supervise activities, participate in games with children, enforce safety rules, and follow licensing and district procedures to protect health and safety, including hand washing and equipment use.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Willingness to understand and support the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Site Aide for the XLT before- and after-school program according to district policies.
• Supervise play and participate with children in group games while enforcing safety rules.
• Intervene to prevent injuries and stay with children at all times.
• Enforce health and safety practices, including hand washing and playground safety.

Primary Tasks & Major Activities

Serve as a Site Aide for the eXtended Learning Time before- and after-school program (XLT) and operate in accordance with XLT guidelines and district policies and procedures. Successfully incorporate the XLT program vision and the district's mission into the activities at each site. Supervise play activities as requested by the XLT Site Supervisor by participating with children in group games, enforcing safety rules, intervening when children are likely to injure themselves or others, and remaining with the children at all times. Follow licensing, XLT program procedures, and district procedures to safeguard the health and safety of the children in the program which include, but are not limited to, hand washing, sanitary measures, playground safety rules, and rules regarding the use of supplies and equipment.

Educational/Skills/Experience Required

• Must be at least 17 years old.
