Job summary

Nixa Public Schools seeks an elementary health and physical education teacher for John Thomas School of Discovery (JTSD). The role focuses on implementing the K-6 health and PE curriculum, aligning it with classroom instruction, and leveraging technology to support innovative PE offerings.

The position requires collaboration with peers, participation in district professional development, and tutoring for selected students, with a schedule of 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri certification in Elementary Health and Physical Education.
• Knowledge of Physical Education GLEs, Health Education GLEs, and Love & Logic model of discipline.
• Knowledge and desire to work with students at all academic and physical fitness levels.
• Knowledge of MAP and its integration in health and physical education.
• Willingness to collaborate with peers.
• Willingness to understand and support the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
