Job summary

Tata Technologies is seeking an experienced xIL Test Build Engineer to develop, configure, execute, and assess automated validation tests within HIL and xIL environments. This role uses TraceTronic ecu.test on dSPACE platforms, converting Excel procedures into automated tests and enhancing test automation.

Collaboration with systems, controls, software, and validation teams is required to ensure robust vehicle verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Computer/Automotive Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in HIL/xIL testing and validation.
• Hands-on with TraceTronic ecu.test setup and execution.
• Experience converting Excel-based test procedures into automated test cases.
• Experience executing tests using dSPACE HIL systems.
• Strong Python programming for test automation.
• Experience with MATLAB and Simulink model development and integration.
• Working knowledge of dSPACE ControlDesk and ConfigurationDesk.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and execute automated tests using TraceTronic ecu.test.
• Convert Excel-based test procedures into executable ecu.test cases.
• Create and maintain automated test procedures using Python, MATLAB, Simulink, and ecu.test.
• Configure and execute validation activities utilizing dSPACE HIL assets.
• Use dSPACE ControlDesk/ConfigurationDesk for test setup and execution.
• Integrate MATLAB/Simulink models into dSPACE validation environments.
• Translate requirements into traceable test cases.
• Review and analyze automated test results in TraceTronic.
• Perform manual result analysis to validate behavior.
• Evaluate test coverage and validation quality.
• Report findings and recommendations to engineering leadership.
• Support improvements to test pipelines, reporting, and validation processes.
• Develop Python-based backend tools for test execution and reporting.
• Troubleshoot test setup across xIL environments.
