Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. is seeking X-Ray Welders to perform structural welding on submarine hull joints at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI. Candidates must pass an RT welding test and complete a six-month probation.

The role requires MIG welding experience, adherence to welding procedures, and the ability to work in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Competitive benefits and advancement opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or related experience.
• 6 months of structural MIG welding experience or EB MIG qualifications.
• Knowledge of welding procedures and equipment.
• Ability to weld in horizontal, vertical, overhead and flat positions.
• Able to work at heights and in confined spaces; available for all shifts.

Responsibilities

• Weld in all positions on various joint designs with high quality and efficiency.
• Gouge full penetration welds as required.
• Meet internal policy standards and UT/RT acceptance criteria.
• Use pneumatic tools such as grinders, burr tools, and wire brushes.
• Pre-heat equipment and perform carbon/arc gouging; verify weld size with gauges.
• Complete RT welding test and six-month probation to demonstrate proficiency.
