Job summary

Rothman Orthopaedics in Philadelphia is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiographic equipment and produce diagnostic images, including epidural procedures, per physician protocols. You will ensure patient comfort and safety while adhering to ALARA and leading markers.

The role requires ARRT registration, graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program, and ability to prepare patients, adjust technical factors, and perform quality reviews of images.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Active, valid ARRT registration and continued certification.
  • Knowledge of x-ray and epidural procedures; operate equipment safely.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and escorts patient to the appropriate room.
  • Obtains patient history to ensure proper scheduling.
  • Explains the exam to the patient and answers questions.
  • Maintains patient comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Provides radiation protection per ALARA standards.
  • Interacts with pain management team during fluoroscopic procedures.

Job Summary:The Radiologic Technologist operates radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographic images according to various physician protocols and performs epidural procedures. In addition to the routine tasks, a Radiologic Technologist assumes responsibilities of designated area(s) and assists other departments when available.Key Accountabilities:Completion of requested x-rays in a timely manner that are of high-quality.Essential Duties:Greets and escorts patient to the appropriate room.Obtains the patient's history to ensure proper scheduling.Asks female patients of childbearing age the date of their last menstrual period and ensures that there is no possibility of pregnancy.Prepares the patient for procedures by explaining the exam and answers his/her questions as best as possible.Maintains patient comfort and safety while removing obscuring objects from the area of interest.Provides radiation protection (shielding / collimation) for the patient, self, and others in accordance with prescribed safety standards of ALARA (including wearing his/her film badge).Selects proper technical factors according to the size of the individual patient and produces/develops quality radiographs while using appropriate lead markers.Critiques radiographs (density/detail/contrast/positioning/markers/anatomy visible), makes technical adjustments and performs repeats as necessary.Along with the pain management team, assists during fluoroscopic procedures (i.e.: epidural steroid injections, hip aspirations).Reports equipment problems to department supervisor, office manager, and vendor.Participates in training of new employees.Maintains safe radiologic practice per standards adapted and implemented by x-ray quality assurance policies.Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.Qualifications:Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology programMust have active, valid registration and continued certification through the ARRTKnowledge of x-ray procedures and epidural procedures requiredAbility to operate all equipment and machinery, including processors and computer systems, requiredOffice Hours:Monday - Friday: 7:00am - 5:00pmTotal Hours per Week:as neededPay Range:$27.50/hr - $41.00/hrOur Commitment to Employees:Come work at Rothman Orthopaedics!
