Location: Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA.

Sign-on Bonus: Up to $5000.00 (prorated based on hours worked per week/FTE) with a 2-year commitment. External and internal eligible candidates only.

Hours: Part time, weekends only with every other Friday (20 hours per week). Evenings hours are between 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm. Every other weekend rotation and 2-3 holidays per year. On-call rotation (3-4 shifts per month). Less than 1 hour response time.

Position Summary: Performs all routine diagnostic radiographic procedures through proper patient positioning, technique selection, application of immobilization and radiation protection devices.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs all routine diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures through patient positioning, technique selection, administration of contrast media, and application of immobilization and radiation protection devices as established by LG protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Receives requests, checks for special instructions from requesting physicians, and consults with Radiologists as necessary.
  • Greets patients, confirms their identifications, performs the correct procedures as directed, and explains the procedure to patients and families.
  • Operates and enters information through the hospital computer system. Documents required information and patient history in the electronic medical record.
  • Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required. Performs POC testing, Universal Protocol, and other paperwork as applicable.
  • Accurately and appropriately utilizes all computer-related equipment, such as the electronic health record, email, and the intranet.

Secondary Functions:

  • Performs visual preventive safety inspections, completes warm-up procedures for radiographic equipment, records quality control activities, and reports equipment conditions.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.
  • Maintains inventory supplies, rotates stock, and eliminates outdated items.
  • Participates in clinical education of Radiology students.
  • Participates in on-call responsibilities as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology School.
  • Certification in Radiological Technology by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists, within 18 months of hire if prior to 1/01/2024, or 12 months if on/after 1/01/2024.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Valid driver's license may be required depending on position.

Preferred Qualifications: Two years of clinical experience beyond training.
