Job summary

Wellnow-Urgent-Care is seeking an X-Ray Technologist to perform radiologic exams and related duties across Euclid and Mentor on the Lake clinics. The role entails patient care, film handling, and registration tasks with coverage at multiple sites.

The candidate will work as RT or GXMO certified and may perform MA duties, basic screenings, and phlebotomy as part of care delivery. Travel between care centers is required.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in a physician practice or clinic preferred.
• RT or GXMO certification required.
• Basic computer skills including EMR usage.
• CPR certification is expected.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate X-Ray equipment to take radiographs as directed.
• Ensure radiology equipment functions properly and report malfunctions.
• Document and log radiologic procedures and patient data.
• Complete registration duties and patient history collection.
• Perform point-of-care testing and basic screenings as needed.
• Administer injections and collect specimens per policy.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and patient privacy.
• Assist with exams and testing and coordinate ancillary care.
• Schedule and coordinate records and referrals as required.
• Travel between Euclid and Mentor on the Lake clinics for coverage.

Job description

The X-Ray Technologist performs radiologic exams, following established procedures for patient care and safety.

Performs all the duties related to proper film identification, storage, and reporting functions.

Perform registration duties.

This position will require shifts at both Euclid and Mentor on the Lake clinics and both RT and Medical Assistant duties

Responsibilities

• Operate X-Ray equipment to take radiographic films of designated portions of the body as directed by the APP or Physician.
• Ensures radiology equipment is functioning appropriately and reports equipment malfunctions to manager
• Logs radiologic procedures
• Responsible for taking patient history and obtain vital signs
• Perform basic testing or screenings such as: vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, pulmonary function testing.
• Perform necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samples.
• Accurately complete corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples.
• Able to perform subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections and accurately complete paperwork according to policy for that procedure.
• Perform point of care testing such as: strep, mono, glucose, influenza, Urine pregnancy, Urinalysis, blood glucose levels.
• Dispense and document medications and other treatment modalities.
• Insure sterile technique, instrument cleaning and sterilization, proper use of the autoclave.
• Schedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary care for patients.
• Assist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I & D’s and splinting/ ortho-glass preparation
• Perform occupational medicine testing such as: urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, audiogram, and DOT physicals
• Maintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA).
• Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager.
• Logs laboratory procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed.
• Responsible for patient call backs, scheduling physician referrals; specialist’s referrals and pharmacy issues; and patient’s education.
• Maintains examination rooms, sterilization of equipment and stocks necessary medical supplies.
• Performs duties to ensure good patient flow.
• Registration duties: explain to patients' accepted insurances and those out of network and knowledgeable of all pricing. Properly collect and record payments, complete registration screen in a timely manner.
• Travel to care centers within designated region
• Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal information
• Cleans and stocks the site with other members of the team
• Training other team members.
• Additional job responsibilities may be assigned.
• Radiology Technician (RT) or General X-Ray Machine Operator (GXMO) certification required.
• 1-2 years previous experience working in a physician practice or clinic setting is preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Ability to function independently without close supervision, and to consistently exercise discretion and the highest level of good clinical and other professional judgment.
