The X Ray Limited Scope & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x-ray, medical, and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician and supports in other areas of the facility as needed, including registration and referral management. This position involves performing routine X-ray examinations according to Concentra policies, practices, and regulations, requiring efficient and accurate patient care in a fast-paced environment. Ensuring every patient is treated with quality clinical care and receives an excellent patient experience is essential.

Responsibilities

X-ray Technician Duties

• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, escort them to dressing and x-ray rooms, provide instructions, and assist in positioning body parts for radiography. Explain procedures and monitor patient care, safety, and comfort during the x-ray exam.
• Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, adjust controls, and take x-rays following established requirements and regulations to ensure safety.
• Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
• Maintain radiologic equipment, report malfunctions, and ensure workflows are followed with proper documentation.

Medical Support Specialist Duties

• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
• Prepare patients for physical exams, take vital signs, and perform ancillary testing such as vaccines, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiograms, and respirator fit testing.
• Perform rapid screening tests and assist providers during examinations and treatments.
• Handle routine medical procedures, assist with injury care, dispense medications, and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Perform clerical tasks, ensure documentation accuracy, and follow HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of state-approved Limited Scope Technician certification and license, if applicable.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.

Experience in medical assisting and X-ray procedures is preferred, along with knowledge of occupational medicine requirements. Skills include excellent customer service, confidentiality, communication, teamwork, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
