Overview

The X Ray Limited Scope & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x-ray, medical, and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician, and supports other areas of the facility as needed, including registration and referral management. This position involves performing routine X-ray examinations in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, and procedures, and applicable regulations. It requires delivering efficient and accurate one-on-one patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring every patient is treated with quality clinical care and receives an excellent patient experience from welcoming, respectful, and skillful colleagues.

Responsibilities

X-ray Technician Duties

• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, assist with positioning, explain procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort during x-ray exams.
• Operate radiologic equipment, produce diagnostic images, and adjust controls for proper exposure.
• Use radiation safety measures and protection devices.
• Ensure equipment functionality, report malfunctions, and maintain documentation and records.

Medical Support Specialist Duties

• Perform drug and alcohol testing, prepare patients for examinations, and assist during procedures.
• Perform rapid screening tests, assist clinicians, and handle routine medical procedures.
• Dispense medications and DME, maintain supplies, and ensure equipment calibration and record keeping.
• Support patient flow, communicate wait times, perform clerical tasks, and ensure documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of state-approved Limited Scope Technician program and licensure, if applicable.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.

Experience & Skills

• At least 6 months of medical assistant experience and familiarity with medical procedures and terminology.
• Experience in X-Ray and routine medical procedures.
• Knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (preferred).
• Service mentality, attention to detail, initiative, flexibility, decision-making ability, and excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information, communicate professionally, and work well in a team.
• Certifications such as Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol, Hair and Oral Fluids Collection.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
