Job summary

American Health Imaging is seeking a Full-Time X-Ray Technologist/Aide at our Homewood imaging center. Schedule is Monday–Friday 8am–5pm. Responsibilities include assisting technologists, preparing rooms, and ensuring a smooth patient experience while maintaining on-time performance.

The ideal candidate will have ARRT Radiography certification preferred, a high school diploma, and relevant patient-care experience. Training and certifications will be provided.

Qualifications

• ARRT Radiography Certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Radiology technology student or 12 months imaging experience preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant or similar patient care role.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Run IVs – venipuncture and assist technologists to maintain on-time schedules.
• Greet patients, explain procedures, and prepare exam rooms between patients.
• Provide pre-exam screening and instructions, and assist with contrast administration as needed.
• Ensure smooth patient throughput and high quality customer service.
• Attend trainings to stay up to date on best practices and certifications.

Lumexa Imaging partner, American Health Imaging, is currently hiring for a Full-Time X-Ray Technologist/Aide to work weekdays 8am-5pm at our Homewood outpatient imaging center. The tech/aide will be responsible for providing assistance to all Technologists in the center in areas that allow the Technologist to maintain an on-time schedule and run the diagnostic imaging scanning area in an orderly fashion.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Running IVs – venipuncture
• Demonstrates the company’s values in daily activities
• Greets and escorts patients to changing room; briefly explains procedure
• Provides pre-exam screening and instructions
• Assists patients on and/or off table when requested by technologist
• Supports technologists throughout scan and contrast administration, as required
• Manages post-scan patient hand-off
• Ensures efficient, friendly, and smooth patient experience for all patients who enter the center
• Ensures smooth patient throughput of the entire center and all modalities
• Monitors center modality schedules
• Adjusts patients schedule when necessary and keeping all techs informed of any changes
• Prepares room set up between patients, including putting proper coil on table, putting previous coil away and changing table sheet
• Helps the technologist stay on time by having the next patient ready before the current patient is ready to get off the table
• Provides front-end coverage as needed
• Attends trainings to stay up to date on best practices and certifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Previous Phlebotomy experience preferred
• Knowledge of and adherence to company policies and protocols
• Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA and safety guidelines
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
• Knowledge of and adherence to ALARA principles
• Knowledge of basic level computer skills
• Skill in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completion

Education and Experience:

• ARRT Radiography Certification Preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Radiology Technology student or 12 months previous experience in diagnostic radiology or other imaging modality preferred
• Certified Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant or any previous patient care/medical care role
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Physical Requirements:

• Heavy lifting: up to 100 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, stoop and lift and walk without restrictions.
• Requires computer related activities for extended periods of time
• Requires the ability to see, hear, speak, write and key
