Job summary

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic examinations under physicians’ direction and to contribute to safe, efficient patient care. You will position patients, adjust exposure factors, and ensure high-quality images while protecting patients and staff from unnecessary radiation.

Applicants should have ARRT certification, a Tennessee X-ray Operator License, and experience in orthopedic radiography.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification required.
• Prior orthopedic x-ray experience preferred.
• C-Arm experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform satisfactory radiographic procedures as requested by physicians.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and produce quality radiographs.
• Lift and transfer patients safely (including wheelchair and stretcher).
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
• Reduce patient anxieties by explaining exams and answering questions.
• Prepare patients by dressing/undressing, positioning, and adjusting equipment for exposures.
• Minimize radiation to patients and staff using protection techniques and proper shielding.

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment and produce quality radiographs
• Must be able to lift patients, and transport patients via wheelchair and stretcher
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment
• Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanation of exams; answering patient questions
• Prepares patient for radiographic procedure by proper patient dressing/ undressing, proper positioning, moving equipment into specified position, and adjusting controls to set exposure factors
• Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposures

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma required
• Certificate or Associate/Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology required
• State of Tennessee Medical Board X-ray Operators License required

Qualifications And Experience

• ARRT certified
• Prior orthopedic x-ray experience, preferred
• C-Arm experience is a plus

Travel Requirements

• Must be able and willing to float to other TOA locations when needed to.
